What are the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals?
The Sustainable Development Goals were adopted by the United Nations in 2015 as a call-to-action for people worldwide to address five critical areas of importance by 2030: people, planet, prosperity, peace, and partnership.
They are the blueprint to achieve a better and more sustainable future for all.
They address the global challenges we face, including those related to poverty, inequality, climate change, environmental degradation, peace and justice.
The 17 Goals are all interconnected, and in order to leave no one behind, it is important that we achieve them all by 2030.

•Goal 11. Make cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable.
•Goal 12. Ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns.
•Goal 13. Take urgent action to combat climate change and reduce its impacts.
•Goal 14. Conserve & ensure sustainable use & development of oceans, seas, freshwater bodies and marine resources.
•Goal 15. Protect, restore and promote the sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems, sustainably manage forests, combat desertification, halt and reverse land degradation, and halt biodiversity loss.
•Goal 16. Promote peaceful and inclusive societies for sustainable development, provide access to justice for all, and build effective, accountable and inclusive institutions at all levels.
•Goal 17. Strengthen the means of implementation and revitalize the global partnership for sustainable development.
